Job summary

Actalent, Inc. in Princeton, NJ, seeks a Project Lead to manage all phases of building design projects, from feasibility to detailed design. You will define scope, budgets, and staffing with the PM and draft design briefs based on client input.

Responsibilities include evaluating existing systems, coordinating with code officials, and guiding a design team to produce compliant drawings. This is a hybrid, permanent role with a generous salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering/design experience in the building design industry.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Expertise in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design.
• Thorough knowledge of Electrical system design and applicable codes.
• Expertise in electrical engineering calculations (SKM, EasyPower, AmpCALC).
• Experience with medium voltage systems and electrical hazardous areas.
• PE preferred; supervisory experience (4 years) on project teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Lead on all phases of building design projects (feasibility, assessments, basis of design, detailed design).
• Assess project requirements, break work into tasks, and define scope, budget, and staffing with a PM.
• Draft scope of work for design based on client meetings.
• Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems.
• Review and evaluate operation of existing systems, coordinate with code officials and other professionals.
• Assign and review work of the design team; monitor progress and produce markups for drawings.
• Coordinate all project documentation with clients and design professionals; manage budgets and change notices.
• Perform electrical calculations and sizing using industry tools; ensure compliance with codes.
