Job summary

Actalent in Edison, NJ is seeking a Project Lead for all phases of building systems projects. You will define scope with clients, break work into tasks, and manage design teams using AutoCAD/Revit to produce drawings and documentation.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in building design, strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes, and experience overseeing engineers. This on-site role offers a path to leadership within a global engineering services firm.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering/design experience in the building design industry (e.g., power distribution, standby power systems, life safety).
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Expertise in AutoCAD/Revit for engineering design.
• Thorough knowledge of Electrical system design and applicable codes.
• Expertise in performing electrical engineering calculations (SKM, EasyPower, AmpCALC).
• Experience with medium voltage systems, electrical hazardous classified areas, and telecommunications systems.
• 4 years of experience overseeing engineers and designers on project teams.
• PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all phases from feasibility to detailed design and documentation.
• Break down projects into tasks and define scope, budget, and staffing with the Project Manager.
• Prepare or review scope of work and design reports for clients.
• Coordinate design teams and review progress; produce markups for drawings.
• Review contractor payments and ensure conformance with project plans and codes.
