Job summary

Actalent in Princeton, NJ seeks a Project Lead for building design projects from feasibility through detailed design. You will lead the design team, coordinate scope, budget and staffing with the Project Manager, and communicate with clients on scope changes.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical engineering/design for building systems, AutoCAD/Revit proficiency, and SKM/EasyPower experience; PE preferred. Hybrid work and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering/design experience in the building design industry.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year College or University.
• Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD/Revit).
• Thorough knowledge of Electrical system design and applicable codes.
• Expertise in performing electrical engineering calculations (SKM, EasyPower, AmpCALC, etc.).
• Experience with medium voltage systems, electrical hazardous classified areas, and telecommunications systems.
• 4 years of experience overseeing engineers and designers on project teams.
• PE preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead projects across all phases from feasibility to detailed design.
• Break down projects into tasks with PM to determine scope, budget, and staffing.
• Prepare scope of work for design based on client meetings.
• Prepare or review construction budgets and design studies.
• Coordinate with code officials and other design professionals.
• Review contractor applications for payment and monitor project progress.
• Coordinate all aspects of project document completion with clients and design team.
• Mentor design staff and develop company standards.
