Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Oak Harbor, Ohio seeks a senior electrical engineer to lead the electrical scope of Power Uprate projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant design and testing of electrical systems that integrate with plant infrastructure.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 10+ years of nuclear engineering experience with 5+ years in electrical design, plus experience with EPU, NRC/NERC standards, and cross-functional coordination with EPCs, OEMs, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Electrical discipline preferred).
10+ years nuclear engineering, 5+ years in electrical design or major projects.
Experience with Extended Power Uprates, electrical upgrades, or grid integration.
Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, IEEE, NERC, and ANSI codes.
Proven ability to lead engineers and coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, and site operations.
Experience supporting regulatory submittals and NRC/NERC compliance questions is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical scope for EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
Direct and review electrical system designs, ensuring compliance with IEEE, NRC, NERC, and fleet standards.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering for compatibility and constructability.
Support Owner's Engineer and independent reviews to validate design quality, operability, and reliability.
Provide technical leadership for resolving electrical issues to maintain milestones.
Ensure electrical designs support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration into fleet systems.
