Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead building electrical design, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure code-compliant, reliable power and lighting systems for diverse projects.

You will mentor staff, manage project scope and budgets, and collaborate with project managers from concept through construction. A PE license and 10+ years of experience are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license recognized by the licensing board.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, signaling, life safety, and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidisciplinary team throughout project development.
• Establish client relations and participate in design, marketing, and production meetings for electrical systems.
• Lead electrical design on multiple projects and assume electrical lead roles.
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document sessions on-site with PM, architect and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule.
• Track project financials and adjust work effort to meet budget and schedule.
• Work with PM and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management.
• Direct activities of other electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
