Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Tempe, AZ office to lead electrical design for healthcare and commercial projects. You will manage multi-site projects, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities include client engagement, creating technical reports, and guiding cross-functional teams from concept through construction while maintaining schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 7+ years post-education experience as an electrical engineer.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in healthcare or science and technology.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
• Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations and to coordinate teams safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage client relationships and provide key technical input on pursuit efforts.
• Coordinate, review and approve electrical design plans, ensuring data integrity and compliance with codes and regulations.
• Apply high-level electrical engineering techniques across project phases from concept to operation.
• Plan and incorporate future-ready techniques and operating strategies for safety and functionality.
• Involved from inception to completion in managing design and construction of electrical systems.
• Oversee cross-functional teams and manage budgets, hours, expenses, and documentation.
• Prepare data visualizations and comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
