Job summary

RRC Power and Energy in Round Rock, TX is seeking a lead engineer to design and deliver Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. You will oversee electrical infrastructure design, perform system studies, ensure compliance with IEEE/NESC/NEC/NFPA, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s with 2–4 years experience in BESS or MV power systems, strong programming and software tool skills, travel up to 25%, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field with progressive relevant experience.
• Experience applying IEEE, NESC, NEC, and NFPA standards to utility-scale projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead engineering efforts for BESS and related electrical infra.
• Perform and review system studies (ampacity, load flow, short circuit, power loss).
• Coordinate design, scheduling, and progress with multiple teams across project phases.
• Review drawings for compliance and integration; perform QC on deliverables.
• Travel nationally up to 25% for client sites and projects.
