RRC Power and Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer II - BESS to help advance battery energy storage projects from our Round Rock/Austin area. The role focuses on designing DC and MV systems, including switchgear and distribution, while performing system studies and coordinating with project teams.

You will interact with clients, review equipment drawings, and monitor QA/QC to ensure compliance with codes and standards. A background in renewables and BESS is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering.
• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years experience in BESS, renewable energy, distribution, or MV power systems.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, with ability to obtain PE license in the future.
• Experience designing medium and low voltage cabling systems.
• Exposure to battery container systems, EMS and BMS.
• Experience with inverter/PCS equipment; familiarity with IEEE/NESC/NEC/NFPA.

Responsabilités

• Design Battery Energy Storage Systems, DC and MV systems including switchgear and distribution.
• Perform system studies such as ampacity, load flow, short circuit analysis and loss study.
• Coordinate design, analysis, and progress of engineering projects with the team.
• Interact with clients to interpret needs and requirements.
• Review manufacturer equipment drawings and ensure QA/QC compliance.
