Description

You will lead a team on interesting and challenging projects involving investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues to support single and multi-discipline projects.

The majority of projects require multi-discipline interface and coordination.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading efforts by group members to ensure successful completion of electrical engineering project deliverables, meeting technical, quality, financial, and project control expectations.
  2. Initiating and communicating scope of work to group members.
  3. Defining deliverables such as calculations, specifications, drawings, and design changes.
  4. Reviewing status and tracking progress to maintain scope and budget, and keeping clients informed.
  5. Conducting routine status meetings and submitting progress reports.
  6. Tracking and resolving open items and emergent project issues.
  7. Coordinating the completion of project deliverables.

Leading the detailed design phases, including interface and coordination with other disciplines.

Developing project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants.

Providing technical oversight for all electrical activities, including design change packages, engineering calculations (e.g., power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity), equipment procurement specifications, and bid review processes.

Interfacing with clients to validate scope and ensure satisfaction.

Mentoring and guiding the development of the team.

Identifying client needs for strategic opportunities and leveraging relationships for follow-on work.

Preparing and coordinating multi-discipline proposals.

Qualifications

  • A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Ten+ years’ experience in designing electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
  • Three+ years leading an engineering design team through all project phases.
  • Experience in selecting equipment, materials, and preparing engineering change packages, calculations, and specifications.
  • Experience as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead role.
  • Experience with electrical system design, including low and medium voltage distribution systems.
  • Effective communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Capability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear station.
  • PE licensure preferred.
