Position Overview
Lead Electrical Engineer – Full Time – Boston, MA. Drive design and execution of electrical systems, bridge design and project management, ensure compliance with NEC and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation of deliverables including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications
- Apply electrical distribution, lighting and power systems design
- Effectively communicate design options to diverse stakeholder groups
- Provide engineering direction and guidance for the project team
- Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures from concepts through construction
- Oversee electrical load calculations
- Complete projects within budget and schedule
- Coordinate interdisciplinary work and align with other disciplines
- Update master specifications and provide input into standards
- Apply knowledge of building codes and electrical industry standards
- Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection
- Provide cost opinions and construction cost estimates
- Perform site visits, issue reports
- Conduct distribution Load Flow, Short Circuit and Arc Flash Energy analysis using Easy Power
- Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline
- Relevant Professional Credential (PE) preferred
- Minimum 2-4 years of Electrical E-2 or 3-5 years of related work experience
- Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts
- Thorough understanding of project phases and associated deliverables
- Ability to assemble and run a team
- Strong delegation skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and application of NEC and relevant building and energy codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit/AutoCAD, Easy Power
Salary
Hiring Base Salary Range: $93,000 – $114,900 annual. Eligible for time and a half overtime pay.
