Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in San Jose, CA, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer focused on avionics hardware development for the Bus Electronics Design team. You will own the electrical design from concept through schematic capture and PCB layout, including on-board computing, data handling, and FPGA interfaces for space systems.

This on-site role requires hands-on hardware work, cross-functional collaboration, and rigorous hardware testing and qualification for missions from LEO to deep space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in design, simulation, analysis and testing of digital electronics.
• Experience with schematics and PCB layout for digital/mixed-signal and high-speed communications.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and inform system trades, requirements capture and design choices.
• Proactive ownership of hardware through design, production, satellite integration, and on-orbit performance.
• Design, analyze, and test digital electronics hardware for space applications.
• Hands-on prototyping and bring-up of designs.
• Document engineering test and qualification plans, execute hardware validation through benchtop and environmental testing, troubleshoot and investigate anomalies.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software/firmware, test engineering, and supply chain teams to drive project success.
