This on-site role focuses on avionics hardware development for spacecraft, leading from concept through schematic capture and PCB layout to flight hardware qualification.
The role covers onboard computing, memory blocks, high-speed communications, FPGA interfaces, and integration, with hands-on prototyping and testing.
Lanteris Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer, Digital to join our Bus Electronics Design team, with a focus on avionics hardware development. This is a hands‑on, on‑site position located in San Jose, CA. The Bus Electronics team is responsible for the design, verification, and manufacturing support for the electronics that enable our reputable, reliable, high‑powered spacecraft. Our spacecraft span pLEO to deep space, enabling national defense, earth observation & communications, and interplanetary space exploration such as NASA’s Psyche Discovery Program and SR‑1 Freedom mission to Mars. In this role, you will lead the electrical design of next‑gen compute for our avionics systems, including onboard computing and data handling, memory blocks, high speed communications, FPGA interfaces and integration, etc. This is an exciting opportunity to be the owner from concept through schematic capture and PCB layout, engineering test and qualification, production and flight of avionics hardware for space applications.
