Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer, Digital to join our Bus Electronics Design team in San Jose, CA. This on-site role focuses on avionics hardware development for spacecraft, leading from concept through schematic capture and PCB layout to flight hardware qualification.

The role covers onboard computing, memory blocks, high-speed communications, FPGA interfaces, and integration, with hands-on prototyping and testing.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science or a related field; 8+ years experience minimum.
• Proficiency in design, simulation, analysis, and test of digital electronics circuits and on-board computing.
• Proficiency in schematics and circuit board layout for digital and mixed-signal electronics, including high-speed communications.
• Experience with analysis methods such as circuit stress, derating, and worst-case analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on system trades, requirements capture, and design decisions.
• Proactive ownership of hardware through design, production, satellite integration, and on-orbit performance.
• Design, analyze, and test digital electronics hardware for spacecraft applications.
• Hands-on prototyping and bring-up of designs.
• Document engineering test and qualification plans and execute hardware validation via benchtop and environmental testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software/firmware, test, and supply chain teams to drive project success.
