Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer. This is a fully remote position with 10% travel required.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,750.03 - $137,500.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

As a Lead Design Engineer, you will provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects. In this role, you will:

1. Lead medium/high voltage designs for Substations and MV power distribution projects.
2. Participate in site walk-downs to assist in developing proposals for new work in the region.
3. Develop engineering estimates, scope of work, and review technical documents.
4. Responsible for developing drawing packages which include:
1. Equipment Specifications
2. Single line/Three-line drawings
3. Schematics/Wiring/Interconnection diagrams
4. General arrangement drawings
5. Conduit/cable plans
6. Grounding drawings
7. AC/DC control power drawings
8. SCADA and Communication design
9. Equipment Testing Procedures/Commissioning plans
10. Various Power Engineering calculations

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
2. At least 8 years of design experience
3. No relocation will be offered for this position. Active Military Service candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
4. Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Professional Engineering license
2. Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE standards
3. Understanding of power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash

8. Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
10. Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA, IEEE
