Job summary
ABB is seeking a seasoned Engineering professional to lead motor design initiatives for industrial motors, guiding prototype development from concept to production feasibility. The role emphasizes strong collaboration with R&D and cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective, scalable solutions.
The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering and at least 8 years of motor experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience in electric motors.
- Advanced design methods (FEA) preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design & Technical Excellence – apply advanced motor design principles to electrical designs that meet ABB specs and standards.
- Prototyping Leadership – define and execute prototype development strategies, including equipment and tooling requirements, and plan timelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and drive application-focused solutions.
- Technical Leadership – act as a key technical resource to support cross-functional problem-solving and contribute to design teams.
