Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Senior Echocardiographer to perform advanced echocardiographic procedures and provide expert interpretation. This full-time role includes leadership duties, staff mentoring, and collaboration with physicians across multiple labs and patient settings.

The position requires an accredited echocardiography education, an associate degree, and one of the required certifications, with BLS due within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent) per IAC guidelines.
• Associate Level Degree required.
• Must have at least one of the four certifications: RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze advanced echocardiographic procedures (TTE, TEE, stress echo).
• Lead and mentor staff; manage schedules and training.
• Complete structured echocardiography reports and support quality initiatives.
• Work across Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP/Cath Lab, OR, ICU and bedside with patients.
