Job summary

Educare of Omaha, Inc. seeks a Certified Lead Teacher for our Head Start program in Omaha, NE. The role involves planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive education program aligned with Head Start, Educare standards, and Nebraska licensing guidelines.

Responsibilities include observation, individualized planning, family engagement, and team coaching. Requires a Bachelor’s in education, Nebraska teaching certificate, and CDA unless coursework is met; 2+ years of early childhood

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in education is required; Early Childhood preferred.
• Active Nebraska teaching certificate is required.
• CDA certification will be required unless 18 hours of Early Childhood coursework have been taken.
• Two years of early childhood experience in a group setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess and document each child’s skills, behavior and development.
• Develop individualized lesson plans and coordinate referrals for special needs.
• Engage families, schedule conferences and involve parents in activities.
• Provide leadership for the classroom team and supervise student teachers and aides.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom; implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Plan activities to develop language, literacy, cognition, motor, and social-emotional skills.
