Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking an experienced powertrain design engineer to lead driveline, transmission, and engine system development from concept to production.

You will craft gears, shafts, bearings, splines, and chain drives while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, and schedule targets. Significant experience with drivetrain analysis tools and GD&T, FMEA, and DVP&R is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in mechanical/powertrain/driveline or gear system design.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling; Creo preferred.
• Experience with drivetrain analysis tools such as MASTA, ROMAX, KISSsoft or similar software.
• Systems engineering and requirements management experience.
• Experience with GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence, collaborate, and lead in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of driveline, transmission, and engine systems from concept through production.
• Create schedules for system, subsystem, and component designs to meet timing goals.
• Design gears, shafts, bearings, splines, chain drives, and related powertrain components.
• Perform drivetrain analyses including gear mesh and load modeling.
• Conduct or oversee engineering analyses (DFMEA, FEA) to ensure performance.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with stakeholders across interfacing systems.
