Job summary

Welch Equipment Company is seeking technicians to safely maintain and service warehouse equipment including dock doors, dock equipment, and entry doors. The role involves field repairs, welding, and installing various components across sites in the Denver area.

Expect a full-time schedule with medical and life benefits, PTO, and a 401(k) plan. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of dock/door experience, and welding or diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of dock and overhead door experience preferred.
• Ability to safely drive a company vehicle.
• MIG and ARC welding experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Basic math skills for measurements and installations.
• Computer and tablet proficiency to maintain inventory and work orders.
• Customer service and communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 20 ft, and operate power tools.

Responsibilities

• Read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to perform diagnostics and repairs.
• Perform on-site repairs and maintenance on dock doors and dock equipment.
• Service, repair, install, and maintain commercial dock doors, equipment, and entry doors.
• Design, fabricate, and weld warehouse aftermarket products.
• Install EODs, dock levelers, restraints, lifts, seals, and shelters as required.
• Position components accurately at each job site.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Additional duties as assigned.

About this role:

The person in this role will be responsible for safely and effectively maintaining and servicing numerous types of warehouse equipment and systems to include but not limited to commercial dock doors, dock equipment and commercial entry doors.

Responsibilities

• Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints in order to perform diagnostic and repairs
• Perform on-site repairs in the field as needed as well as overhead door and dock equipment maintenance if requested
• Service, repair, install and perform maintenance requests on commercial dock doors, dock equipment, high speed rolling doors, and commercial entry doors
• Design, fabricate and weld warehouse aftermarket product line
• Perform maintenance and install EOD’s, dock levelers, vehicle restraints, scissor lifts, dock seals and shelters, freight lifts and others as required
• Adjust, lay-out, position, align and fit components required at each job site
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial dock and overhead door experience preferred
• Ability to safely and effectively drive a company vehicle
• Proficient fitting and welding from shop blueprints
• MIG and ARC welding experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Basic math skills involving measurements and installations
• Computer and tablet proficient to maintain inventory and work orders
• Customer Service and communication skills
• Self-motivated
• Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs. Ability to continuously lift and bend, climb ladders up to 20’ in height, work on knees for extended periods of time, and proficient operating power tools
• Able to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel crouch, reach, climb, or crawl on a freque n t basis
