Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead the New Product Design and Development of the Viewer for the daVinci Robotic Assisted Surgical System. The role focuses on advancing display system architectures and ensuring high brightness, color accuracy, and patient-safe visualization for the surgical field.

You will model, prototype, and validate display metrics, collaborate with external development partners, and stay ahead of imaging trends to drive IP creation and product excellence.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with 10+ years of display industry experience.
• Deep understanding of flat-panel display technology and capabilities.
• Experience with LCD/OLED panel drivers and touch screens.
• Familiar with optics modeling tools and CAD workflows.
• Experience with eye-tracking and 3D vision systems is a plus.
• Strong patent activity in optics/display is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and demonstrate new display system architectures for DaVinci Viewer.
• Model and validate metrics: brightness, contrast, resolution, color.
• Collaborate with external development partners and manage supply chain strategy.
• Stay current on imaging trends and contribute to IP generation.
