Job summary

Legacy Treatment Services seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adolescents with developmental disabilities in a residential program. Build trusting relationships, mentor youth, and promote independence under a Behavior Support Plan.

The DSP will assist with daily living activities, school outings, and community integration, while upholding safety and crisis de-escalation practices. Weekend shifts are required, with competitive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED plus three years of experience working with children or adolescents.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work with children or adolescents in a residential treatment setting.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and meaningful connections with children and adolescents.
• Mentor and encourage youth through daily challenges while promoting positive decision-making.
• Support community integration by accompanying youth to school activities, appointments, and outings.
• Teach essential life skills such as cooking, laundry, cleaning, and personal responsibility.
• Use positive reinforcement and crisis de-escalation techniques to help youth succeed.
• Participate in recreational activities and serve as a positive role model.
