KenCrest is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to mentor staff and provide dependable, compassionate support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll lead by example, help with daily routines, and foster independence in home and community settings.

This hands-on, team-oriented role emphasizes relationship-building, problem-solving, and ensuring meaningful everyday experiences for the people you support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• 1–3 years of direct care or health-related experience.
• Must pass background checks and drug test.
• CPR, First Aid, and Medication training required or completed.
• Strong communication and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
• Give medications and follow health plans (we will train you).
• Drive individuals to appointments, work, or fun activities.
• Help people build life skills and try new things.
• Encourage individuals to speak up and make their own choices.
• Keep clear records and fill out forms as needed.
• Communicate with coworkers, families, and medical staff.
• Mentor and support other staff on your shift.
• Help with money tracking, supplies, and scheduling.
• Keep the home safe and follow emergency steps if needed.
