Job summary

Advancing Opportunities is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on leadership to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will mentor staff, support regulatory compliance, and communicate with the Residential Manager to ensure quality care.

You will help individuals build independence, stay connected with their communities, and develop essential daily living skills while maintaining a safe, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental illness.
• Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meals, housekeeping, and home maintenance.
• Encourage independence and development of self-care, social, community and independent living skills.
• Help individuals build relationships, participate in recreational activities, and engage with the community.
• Maintain a safe, supportive home-like environment and mentor DSPs with on-site training.
