Job summary

Sunrise Group in Fulton, Missouri invites you to join our team as a Direct Support professional. You will provide supervision, support and participation to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them live valued lives in the community.

The role emphasizes ensuring health, safety, training and documentation compliance, while promoting independence and choice. Previous human service exposure is valued, with full-time opportunities in a Drug-Free Workplace environment.

Qualifications

• Must complete pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with endorsements and have 3 years driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location.
• Minimum one year of experience working in the human service field if required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Assists Residential Program Director in providing supervision to meet the needs and goals of the individuals according to their plans.
• Ensures each individual’s training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of the individuals are protected at all times.
• Provides a positive, reinforcing environment that promotes independence and choice.
• Assists with scheduling staff, doctors’ appointments, vehicle maintenance and grocery shopping as assigned.
• Provides assistance with monitoring ongoing compliance with agency directives, licensing standards and policies and procedures.
• Ensures all homes, outside areas and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
