Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support professional to provide support, supervision and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings.

You will help individuals live valued lives with individualized plans and ensure safety and well-being on a daily basis. The role requires a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and at least one year in human services.

Qualifications

• Background and pre-employment drug screenings required.
• Valid driver's license with endorsements and at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent as required by work location.
• Minimum one year of experience in human services, if required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports suspected abuse or violations of an individual's rights.
• Provides support, assistance and supervision to meet individuals' needs per their plans.
• Ensures training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulations.
• Protects health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Maintains a positive environment that promotes independence and choice.
