Job summary

Sunrise Community of Southwest Florida, Inc. is seeking Direct Support professionals to provide supervision and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community.

In this role you will help implement training and support plans, monitor health and safety, and coordinate scheduling, appointments, and daily activities in a compliant, person-centered environment. A compassionate, reliable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Must complete pre-employment background and drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license with endorsements and at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Basic computer skills required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location.
• Minimum one year of experience in human services if required by location.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residential Program Director in providing supervision to meet the needs and goals of individuals according to their plans.
• Ensure each individual’s training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the health, safety and well-being of the individuals are protected at all times.
• Provide a positive, reinforcing environment that promotes independence and choice.
• Assist Residential Program Director with scheduling staff, doctors’ appointments, vehicle maintenance and grocery shopping as assigned.
• Provide assistance with monitoring for ongoing compliance with agency directives, licensing standards and policies and procedures.
• Ensure all homes, outside areas and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
