Job summary

Goldwater Care is seeking a Dietary Manager to partner with the Dietitian in planning, organizing, and directing the dietary department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. The role ensures daily delivery of quality nutritional services in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.

You will assist in developing job descriptions, maintaining policies, supervising dietary personnel, overseeing menus and diet plans, and collaborating with nursing and administration to support

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum high school diploma.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, directing, evaluating, and organizing the Dietary Department.
• Maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for dietary staff.
• Review policies and manuals annually and recommend revisions.
• Inspect storage rooms and supply areas for upkeep and control.
• Process diet changes and new diets from Nursing.
• Report on complaints and actions to Dietitian/Administrator.
• Assist with discharge planning for residents’ dietary needs.
• Participate in facility surveys and regulatory inspections.
• Obtain diet histories from residents or families and record preferences.
• Ensure menus comply with physician orders and are properly documented.
• Maintain dietary progress notes and track resident responses.
• Keep menus filed according to policies.
• Maintain stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Support infection control with aseptic techniques.
• Keep dietary and related work areas clean and sanitary.
• Review and revise care plans at least quarterly.
• Ensure care plans identify needed equipment/utensils and involve Nursing Director.
• Ensure dietary staff are aware of and use care plans in daily service.
• Handle budgetary responsibilities including reviews and development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
