Job summary

Transdev in Savannah, GA seeks a hands-on Technician in Charge to lead a diesel technician team while actively diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles and equipment. The role blends leadership with skilled diagnostic work on a third shift schedule (10:00 PM–6:30 AM, Sunday night through Thursday night).

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of diesel technician experience, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel technician.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• DOT drug testing and physical per DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the diesel technician team on shift, performing diagnostics, maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate workload, assign tasks, ensure safety and on-time completion.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to technicians while maintaining productivity.
• Coach and monitor team, promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to support maintenance activities.
