Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. in Savannah, GA is seeking a highly skilled Technician in Charge (Lead Diesel Technician) to lead and perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles. You will guide a technician team, manage workload, and ensure safe, timely outcomes on night shifts.

The role requires 5+ years as a diesel technician, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor others. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package and a 3rd shift schedule (10:00 PM – 6:30

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a diesel technician with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical per DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a working lead, performing skilled diesel diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance while guiding the technician team.
• Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team to meet safety, efficiency, and schedule targets.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems, and other components per manufacturer specs.
• Assist technicians with complex troubleshooting, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
• Coach, train, and monitor team members to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to support maintenance activities while minimizing waste.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, documented, and compliant with policies and regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.
