Job Overview

Location: Upton, KY, USA
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: FULLTIME; Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Repair company tractors and trailers as a Lead Diesel Technician in Upton, KY. Act as the decision‑maker during shifts when there is no manager on duty.

Responsibilities
  • Perform annual vehicle inspections, routine preventative maintenance and replacement and repair services.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to all truck systems, including engine, drive train, cab, brakes, suspension, electrical and communication systems.
  • Assist the leadership team in developing associates' skills, leading team meetings and enforcing Schneider's established parts processes.
  • Encourage a safe work environment for all associates and visitors.
Skills and qualifications
  • A technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or a minimum of X years of diesel technician experience.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
  • Able to manage and prioritize work to meet equipment needs.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and able to pass an MVR check.
