Lead Diesel Technician Job Summary

Use your skills and knowledge to support business goals, mentor technicians, and work closely with management on shop operations.

Responsibilities

1. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues.
2. Assist in assigning tasks to technicians.
3. Complete manufacturing training for certifications.
4. Ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency in the shop.
5. Contribute to technician development.
6. Perform repairs as needed.
7. Mentor technicians to improve skills.
8. Update customers on repair statuses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work on trucks, including climbing and crawling.
• Experience with emissions systems.
• Basic wiring knowledge.
• Commitment to safety.
• Ability to teach less experienced technicians.
• Stand for long periods.
• Use PC to update work orders and explain repairs.
• Maintain quality work orders and checklists.
• Communicate work order status verbally and in writing.
• Report concerns to management.
• Consistent and dependable results.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and electrical experience.
• Refrigeration experience is a plus.
• CDL B or willingness to obtain one (training provided).
• State Inspection License is a plus.
• ASE Certifications preferred; goal to be fully certified.
