Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a qualified Heavy Truck Mechanic in Georgia to maintain and repair diesel and gas vehicles and equipment.

You will perform routine maintenance, keep precise maintenance records, and ensure safe operation by following state, federal, local, and corporate guidelines. Must have a valid CDL, DOT air brake certification, and at least 2 years’ practical heavy truck repair experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Understand repair and parts manuals written in English.
• Operate vehicles, equipment or tools as needed.
• Frequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment using standard methods.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
• Schedule and complete preventive maintenance per guidelines.
• Diagnose and repair heavy truck equipment and vehicles.
• Provide accurate labor hours for each product line.
• Complete reports, work orders, and order parts.
• Coordinate repair schedules and review mechanical write-ups.
• Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
