Job summary

Clean Harbors in Peoria, IL is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to supervise shop operations and ensure the fleet meets DOT compliance. You will oversee preventative maintenance, perform diagnostics, and manage service records, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of diesel engine experience.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Versed in electrical, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines, etc.
• Proficiency in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty units.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and physical test on hire.

Responsibilities

• Health and safety is the number one priority and you must follow all safe work practices.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshoot, diagnose failures and perform corrections including offsite road repairs.
• Complete daily checklists for unit operation.
• Ensure daily maintenance duties are performed and report issues immediately.
• Submit all PM paperwork for tracking schedules.
• Conduct Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections per laws.
• Ensure equipment is parked per permit and DOT requirements.
• Ensure work meets Health and Safety SOPs.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform other assignments as directed by management.
• Understand Clean Compliance Standards.
