Job summary

Mechanics Hub in Harvard, Illinois is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic with 5+ years of experience in medium to heavy truck repair. The role requires strong leadership, diagnostic skills, and expertise in diesel systems.

You will diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems, perform test drives, and ensure all major repairs pass inspections. On-site road calls and supervision of a technician team are key aspects, with company-supported training and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Medium/Heavy truck repair and diagnostics.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of diesel equipment and AC repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including steering, electrical, cooling, braking, and drivetrain.
• Conduct test drives to verify repairs and ensure safety and performance.
• Obtain inspections and approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and document repairs with hours and parts used.
• Respond to road calls for on-site servicing and assist other technicians.
