Job summary

gpac is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment in a garage setting. You will diagnose issues, inspect regularly, and ensure safety and operational standards are met.

The role requires at least 3 years of diesel experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred ASE certification or related training. CDL is a plus. Expect a busy shop with opportunities for overtime and skill development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a diesel mechanic.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• ASE certification or equivalent preferred; CDL is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and maintenance procedures.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, and other components.
• Implement preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend vehicle life.
• Maintain records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked.
• Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Manager to prioritize work orders.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent repair needs.
