Job summary

Cisco Workspace for Government is hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer to guide a small team, enhance CI/CD and automation, and deliver secure software for US Government customers. You will partner with leadership to drive architecture, tooling, and production readiness in a hybrid Virginia/DC metro environment.

The role requires strong cloud, Kubernetes, and IaC expertise, plus collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams to accelerate delivery while maintaining high security standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, DevOps, cloud infra, or related fields.
• Experience deploying to cloud Kubernetes environments with high availability.
• Proficiency with Terraform/OpenTofu and IaC practices.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Ruby, or Go and CI/CD tooling.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, Docker, and container orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a modest engineering team and collaborate with program leadership.
• Define, deploy, and improve the portfolio of products in dev and prod.
• Enforce best practices and communicate designs to technical and non-technical partners.
• Address technical challenges and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Stay current with industry methods and mentor engineers.
