Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to lead the Developer Tools and Software Catalog ecosystem, driving automation, governance, and DX across enterprise teams.

You will define tooling standards, manage end-to-end lifecycle, and collaborate with Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Product teams to enhance developer productivity and platform reliability. Remote options available; Louisville, KY preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Experience with enterprise developer tooling ecosystems and governance.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Git, SQL, and Java or .NET development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise Developer Tools and Software Catalog ecosystem with end-to-end ownership.
• Define tooling standards, governance, best practices, and support models.
• Own Developer Experience (DevEx), onboarding, Day 2 operations, self-service tooling, and developer productivity initiatives.
• Support developer tooling ecosystems as product-like platforms with a strong DX focus.
• Oversee tool lifecycle management, including onboarding, upgrades, patching, licensing, renewals, adoption, and retirement.
• Drive modernization, automation, self-service, and developer productivity initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and vendors to align tooling strategy and roadmaps.
• Lead platform migrations and evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted developer tools.
• Monitor operational metrics, adoption trends, risk remediation efforts, and cost optimization opportunities.
