Job summary

Humana is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own the Developer Tools and Software Catalog ecosystem, driving security, reliability, and rapid software delivery across the enterprise.

You will partner with Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Product teams to advance DevEx, automate workflows, set tooling standards, and deliver self-service capabilities that boost developer productivity and platform stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise developer tooling ecosystems.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software engineering principles, frameworks, and modern development practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, SQL, and Java or .NET development.
• Experience with artifact management platforms such as JFrog and integrations with core DevOps platforms.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, governance, and lifecycle management of the enterprise developer tooling ecosystem, enabling secure, scalable, and efficient software delivery.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Product teams to drive Developer Experience (DevEx), expand automation and self-service capabilities, establish tooling standards and best practices, and deliver solutions that improve developer productivity and platform reliability.
• Define tooling standards and governance, support models, and end-to-end lifecycle management.
• Own Developer Experience (DevEx), onboarding, Day 2 operations, self-service tooling, and productivity initiatives.
• Support developer tooling ecosystems as product-like platforms with a DX focus.
• Oversee tool lifecycle management including onboarding, upgrades, patching, licensing, renewals, adoption, and retirement.
• Drive modernization, automation, self-service, and developer productivity initiatives.
• Partner with multiple teams and vendors to align tooling strategy and roadmaps.
• Lead platform migrations and evaluate AI-assisted development tools.
• Monitor operational metrics, adoption trends, risk remediation, and cost optimization opportunities.
