The Lead Developer serves as a senior technical leader for the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform team.

This role is responsible for leading the design, development, integration, and support of enterprise-scale business solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and organizational technology strategies. They are responsible for developing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting a broad range of highly complex applications, programs, websites, databases and systems, focusing on Dynamics 365. They provide technical leadership across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including solution architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support. They manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from leadership and serve as a high-level subject matter expert for the application, for technologies and integrations, or business processes. They also mentor, guide and coach lower-level professionals. When direct reports are assigned, they conduct performance reviews by HR guidelines and support their direct reports’ professional growth and development plans. This role is based in either Buckhead, GA or Phoenix, AZ and follows a hybrid work schedule of 3-4 days per week in the office. Remote work arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert through all phases of system analysis and development, providing technical direction and architectural guidance.
  • Leads the team to design and implement enterprise solutions leveraging Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure services and related Microsoft technologies, while considering that solutions meet present and future business needs.
  • Determines testing methodology and manages the development and execution of comprehensive test plans.
  • Proactively collaborates with architecture leadership to contribute to application architecture standards.
  • Provides third-level application support including on-call (after hours, weekends, holidays) for priority issues.
  • Troubleshoots highly complex production issues, serving as escalation point.
  • Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved.
  • Leads the selection and evaluation of new vendor software solutions and packages; evaluates emerging technologies and provides recommendations for adoption within the D365 ecosystem.
  • Provides mentoring, training, procedural and technical guidance to less experienced staff.
  • This includes documentation of technical designs and decisions and assuring technical knowledge is shared with all development team members, reviewing code, integrations, and deployment approaches to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Works with team leadership and architecture to set and track delivery and development goals for individuals on team.
  • Contributes to, and champions, PulteGroup Development best practices, methods, standards, and processes.
  • Identifies and leads process improvement efforts related to development processes, deployment practices, code quality and operational support.
  • Follows secure coding standards and addresses security scan alerts.
  • Evaluates and implements Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, Agent, and emerging AI capabilities within Dynamics 365 and Power Platform while ensuring governance, security, and business value alignment.
  • Defines and enforces Power Platform governance standards including environment strategy, ALM processes, DLP policies, managed solutions, security models, and Center of Excellence best practices.
  • Establishes monitoring, alerting, reliability, performance, scalability, and disaster recovery practices for platform solutions and integrations.
  • Reviews and approves solution designs, code changes, integration approaches, deployment strategies, and architectural deviations to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Additional responsibilities for this role: Recruits, selects, coaches, and develops team members. When direct reports are assigned, conducts performance reviews per HR guidelines. Takes corrective actions, including Performance Improvement Plans and terminations, when necessary. Also manages professional growth and development plans.

Knowledge & Experience:

Requires deep knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Typically viewed as a subject matter expert within discipline. May have broad knowledge of project or program management. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 6-8 years of prior relevant experience.

Required Skills
  • Extensive experience developing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement applications.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Dataverse, solution management, security model configuration, and platform customization.
  • Minimum 8 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years focused on Dynamics 365 and Power Platform technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, REST APIs, and modern software design principles.
  • Extensive experience developing Dynamics 365 Plugins, Custom Workflow Activities, Custom APIs, JavaScript/TypeScript components, and model-driven applications.
  • Experience with Power Apps (Model-Driven and Canvas Apps), Power Automate, and Power Platform governance.
  • Extensive experience with Azure services including Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, API Management, and Azure Storage.
  • Experience designing and implementing event-driven and API-based integration solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git-based development practices.
  • Experience implementing observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and related monitoring tools.
  • Experience working with SQL Server, T-SQL, data modeling, and data integration technologies.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Data Lake architecture, and enterprise reporting integrations.
  • Strong understanding of OAuth, OpenID Connect, OData, RESTful APIs, and modern authentication and authorization protocols.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex enterprise software solutions.
