Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Brookfield, Wisconsin, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to own advanced hydraulic system design and validation. You will drive architecture, prototyping, testing, and design reviews for valve systems, pumps, and electro-hydraulic components.

The role requires leadership, autonomy, and the ability to navigate ambiguity, mentoring juniors while aligning with manufacturing and suppliers for robust production.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
5+ years in product design with complex fluid, mechanical, or electromechanical assemblies.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA; hands-on hydraulic systems experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as chief technical resource for hydraulic system design on mid-to high-complexity projects.
Lead architecture development, modeling, prototyping, testing and design reviews.
Define system-level requirements for hydraulic subsystems and actuators.
Develop tests, validate performance, and drive root-cause analyses with teams.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers.
