Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a Lead Engineer, Design Control to develop, implement, and maintain its design-control processes. This role provides oversight to engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure traceability, verification, and change control across projects.

The Design Control Lead supports audits, training, and coordination across Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Licensing, and Digital Engineering to sustain rigorous design verification and reliable records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in nuclear or highly regulated industry.
• Experience implementing design control under NRC/ASME or equivalent QA framework.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of design-control processes, procedures, and templates.
• Provide technical oversight of contractors for design-control work.
• Ensure traceability between design inputs, analyses, decisions, and records.
• Guide verification rigor, independence, and review processes.
• Lead change-control methods including risk assessment and closure.
• Support audits, supplier oversight, and interfaces with QA, licensing, and digital engineering.
