Smile Avenue Family Dentistry in Texas is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant to deliver exceptional chairside care and to lead our assisting team. You will set the standard in the back office, support smooth patient experiences, and help ensure daily operations run efficiently from room setup to end-of-visit readiness.

The role emphasizes training and coaching, consistent infection control, HIPAA compliance, and calm oversight in a busy practice.

Qualifications

• Texas RDA registration is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain before start.
• Several years of chairside assisting experience.
• Experience training or mentoring other assistants.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors chairside with a full range of general dentistry procedures.
• Lead, train, and coach the dental assistant team.
• Support newer assistants by building skills and tracking progress.
• Create the daily assistant schedule and cover gaps.
• Maintain treatment rooms by setting up, stocking, and readiness.
• Take and process X-rays and intraoral scans per protocols.
• Enforce infection control and OSHA standards for safety.
• Prepare patients for procedures and explain post-op care.
• Track and order clinical supplies with the Office Manager.
• Address team concerns and elevate to manager when needed.
• Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA/OSHA guidelines.
• Support the team with additional clinical tasks to meet goals.
