Job summary

Staples Distribution Center in California is seeking a DC Supervisor to lead frontline warehouse associates, oversee daily operations, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency. This hands-on role emphasizes coaching, performance reviews, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

You will develop staffing plans, monitor metrics, and collaborate with leadership to meet department goals while managing costs and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution center, logistics, or related operational environment.
• Experience leading teams, projects, or work groups in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including potential rotational shift assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations within a designated Distribution Center department to meet productivity, quality, safety, and expense goals.
• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans to achieve departmental objectives.
• Analyze operational performance metrics and reports to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Coach, train, and develop associates to maximize performance, engagement, and career growth.
• Provide timely feedback, conduct performance reviews, recognize achievement, and administer corrective action when necessary.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring skilled warehouse associates.
• Plan and adjust staffing levels to align with operational demands and business needs.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and related technology to monitor workflow and drive efficiency.
• Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes communication, accountability, and operational success.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and all safety regulations.
• Support a culture focused on continuous improvement, employee development, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Distribution Center leadership to achieve facility-wide performance goals.
