Job summary

Skydance, a leading global media and entertainment company, seeks a Lead Data Scientist to drive causal analyses, A/B testing, and lifecycle insights for subscriber growth and retention. You’ll own data pipelines and partner with Lifecycle Marketing, Product Analytics, and Finance to translate findings into strategic actions.

The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, mentoring junior analysts, and advancing best practices in causal inference and experimentation within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
• 5+ years in data science/analytics with hands-on causal inference or experimentation methods
• Experience designing or analyzing A/B tests with awareness of common pitfalls
• Strong SQL and Python or R for statistical analysis
• Experience with LTV, survival, or churn metrics and clear stakeholder communication

Responsibilities

• Run causal inference analyses (e.g., diff-in-diff, matching, uplift modeling) to identify drivers of retention and long-term value
• Map the subscriber journey to identify lifecycle, product, pricing, and promo levers with the most impact
• Design, set up, and analyze A/B tests across the subscriber journey (power analysis, monitoring, read-outs)
• Build and maintain reporting and models turning journey optimization into ARPU, survival, and LTV metrics
• Own SQL/Python data pulls, cleaning, and analysis pipelines for causal and LTV modeling
• Prepare clear presentations and summaries for stakeholders
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Product Analytics to ensure data quality
• Stay current on causal inference practices and mentor junior analysts
