Job summary

CVS Health in Oregon seeks a Lead Data Privacy Engineer to advance enterprise data protection while enabling business innovation. You will design scalable privacy solutions and partner with cybersecurity, engineering, legal, and compliance teams.

You will lead risk assessments, implement PETs, and drive governance, metrics, and automation to strengthen privacy posture across the organization.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in Privacy Engineering, Security Engineering, Data Protection, Cybersecurity, or related disciplines with GDPR/CCPA/HIPAA obligations.
5+ years designing and implementing enterprise data protection capabilities (encryption, tokenization, DLP, etc.).
5+ years hands-on experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, Go).
5+ years of cloud and DevSecOps environments, including CI/CD, IaC, privacy threat modeling, and security automation.
3+ years leading enterprise-scale privacy/data protection initiatives with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise data protection and privacy engineering strategy across data environments (discovery, inventory, mapping).
Design, deploy, and optimize Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and DLP solutions to protect data while enabling innovation.
Partner with engineering, product, legal, compliance, and security to embed privacy-by-design and translate regulations into scalable architectures.
Conduct privacy risk assessments, PIAs, threat modeling, and control evaluations for audits and regulatory obligations.
Drive governance metrics, automation, analytics, and continuous improvement in privacy posture and data protection effectiveness.
