Job summary

CVS Health in Hartford is seeking a Lead Data Privacy Engineer to design scalable privacy and security solutions, protecting sensitive data while enabling business innovation.

You will partner across cybersecurity, engineering, data, legal, and compliance to embed privacy-by-design, conduct risk assessments, and drive enterprise data protection strategy. This role offers opportunities to lead PET implementations and governance in a large healthcare company.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Privacy/ Security Engineering or related fields with regulatory experience.
• 5+ years designing enterprise data protection incl. encryption, tokenization, DLP.
• 5+ years hands-on programming in Python, Java, Go, or similar.
• 5+ years cloud/DevSecOps experience including CI/CD, IaC, and security automation.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional privacy or compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead data protection and privacy engineering strategy across data environments.
• Design and deploy PETs, encryption, tokenization, anonymization, data classification and DLP.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, compliance to translate regulatory requirements into architecture.
• Conduct privacy risk assessments, impact assessments, threat modeling, and control evaluations.
• Drive governance metrics, automation, and continuous improvement of privacy posture.
