Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking a Lead Developer, IS Away From Home, to architect and support data and integrations powering AFH business processes in a hybrid Orrville, OH environment.

You will lead the AFH Data Lake and enterprise integrations on AWS, mentor developers, and drive modernization while ensuring security and architecture standards are met. This role requires 5+ years in development with strong Python/SQL, AWS expertise, and SDLC/Agile/DevOps experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience as a developer with a STEM degree or IT training.
• Proficiency with AWS including Lambda, Glue, S3, Step Functions, CloudFormation.
• Strong Python and SQL for data transformation and automation.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data integrations, ETL, APIs, and file-based interfaces.
• Experience delivering technical solutions throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience working within formal delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, or hybrid approaches.
• Proficiency with source control, automated deployment, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub.
• Understanding of data structures, relational databases, data modeling, data transformation, and integration patterns.
• Ability to evaluate, estimate, and recommend technical solution approaches for complex business requirements.
• Ability to lead technical activities for medium to large projects while coordinating resources.
• Ability to conduct integrated testing, debug solutions, and drive successful implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead AFH Data Lake and integration solution delivery.
• Design scalable cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and event-driven interfaces.
• Lead technical efforts and delivery activities for medium to large projects and coordinate resources.
• Create technical designs, integration specifications, data mapping, and implementation plans.
• Evaluate and implement modern cloud technologies and automation opportunities.
• Lead integration, performance, and end-to-end testing across multiple systems.
• Provide technical leadership during deployments, production cutovers, and hypercare support.
