Job summary

The Smucker Information Services (IS) department seeks a Lead Developer to guide AFH data lake and enterprise integration efforts. You will architect, develop, and support cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and event-driven integrations across multiple systems.

As a technical leader, you will mentor junior developers, drive SDLC best practices, and collaborate with Analytics, Sales Operations, and Marketing to ensure reliable, scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a developer with a STEM degree or equivalent
• Proficiency with AWS technologies including Lambda, Glue, S3, Step Functions, CloudFormation
• Strong Python and SQL for data transformation, automation and integration
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data integrations, ETL, APIs, and file-based interfaces
• Experience delivering technical solutions through the SDLC
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, or hybrid methodologies
• Troubleshooting complex integration, performance, and data quality issues
• Proficiency with source control and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
• Understanding of data structures, relational databases, data modeling, and integration patterns
• Ability to lead technical activities for medium to large projects and coordinate resources
• Ability to conduct integrated testing, debugging and deployments
• Ability to mentor developers and provide technical leadership
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and business audiences
• Experience supporting critical business operations and production environments

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of the AFH AWS Data Lake and enterprise integration landscape
• Design scalable cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and event-driven integrations
• Lead technical efforts and delivery activities for medium to large projects
• Create technical solution designs, integration specifications, and data mapping documentation
• Evaluate and implement modern cloud technologies and automation opportunities
• Lead integration, performance, and end-to-end testing across multiple systems
• Provide technical leadership during deployments, production cutovers, and hypercare
• Facilitate troubleshooting of complex integration and data quality issues
• Maintain AWS Glue jobs, Lambda functions, Step Functions, and S3 integrations
• Develop technical SOPs and documentation
• Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing
• Coordinate technical activities across internal and external resources
