Job summary

Roblox is seeking a senior data infrastructure engineer to architect and deliver a high-performance analytics environment at our San Mateo HQ. You will design scalable data infrastructure powering retrieval, visualization, and analytics across thousands of daily queries.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production-grade, scalable data systems.
• AWS infrastructure including VPC, endpoints, private link, Terraform, EKS.
• Infra networking: k8s ingress, load balancers, VPC networking.
• Data infra understanding: Trino/Spark config.
• Strong SQL and distributed engine knowledge.
• Python and notebook stack (pandas, ibis).
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration; enable team productivity.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver a high-performance analytics environment handling thousands of queries daily.
• Design and scale robust data infrastructure for data retrieval and visualization.
• Ensure data systems are reliable, observable, and privacy-compliant.
• Bridge data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure to deliver best-in-class data tools.
• Build intelligent automation to accelerate analytical workflows.
• Contribute to internal platforms to reduce complexity and boost developer productivity.
• Be a tech lead and mentor junior engineers.
• Self-organize and own projects through full lifecycle.
