The American Red Cross is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive modern data architecture and scalable pipelines for analytics and reporting. You will lead a full-stack data engineering effort, mentor teammates, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decisions across the organization.

The role emphasizes data quality, automation, and enterprise data warehouse design, with remote work flexibility and periodic in-person meetings.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in CS/Engineering/Math or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in data engineering, BI, or related field.
• Hands-on with AWS, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, DevOps, and Agile practices.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models for BI and analytics.
• Build scalable solutions aligned to data governance and architectural roadmap.
• Design, develop, test data integration solutions and automate tests.
• Manage automated deployments via Git pipelines and version control.
• Coordinate deployment workflows and troubleshoot pipelines for reliability.
• Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data issues and build data quality framework.
• Mentor less experienced team members through code reviews and pairing.
